Sun Seedlings Custom Fitted Diaper
Sun Seedlings fitted diapers can be made with an outer fabric of your choice, a 100% organic absorbent hidden layer in the middle and an inner layer of your choice next to baby's skin. There is also a soaker which will be made with the same 100% organic aborbent material as in the hidden layer of the diaper shell and can be either sewn-in (hidden) or snap-in. Closures can be side snaps, side aplix (velcro), front snaps or front aplix (velcro.) The edges are serged with a serger thread color of your choice. Snaps color and thread color can be different depending on the fabrics.
Regular-dry diapers have hidden (sewn-in) contour soakers. Quick-dry diapers have snap-in contour or tri-fold soakers for quicker drying. Tri-fold soakers cannot be made regular-dry.
Contour soakers are made with two layers of soaker material. These are either sewn into the hidden layer of the diaper shell, or put in a snap-in (quick-dry) soaker. Quick-dry (snap-in) contour soakers are topped with the same fabric as the inner of the diaper shell (next to baby's skin) and backed with the same fabric as the outer of the diaper shell. When the inner layer of the diaper is one of the soaker fabrics, the soaker will not be topped with an extra layer of it because it would make it too thick.
Tri-fold soakers are made with two rectangular layers of soaker material and cannot be made regular-dry (sewn-in.) When folded in thirds, these equal six layers of absorbency. They snap into the diaper shell as quick-dry contour soakers do. They are topped with the same inner fabric as the inner layer of the diaper shell. With microfleece as the inner fabric, the snap-in tri-fold soaker will have only a strip of microfleece in the middle of the top layer. When the soaker is folded in thirds and snapped into the diaper, only microfleece touches baby's skin. With all other fabrics, the snap-in tri-fold soaker will have a full layer of the inner fabric, not just a strip in the middle. When the soaker is folded in thirds and snapped into the diaper, the full top layer which touches baby's skin is folded within the layers which provides extra absorbency. Microfleece done this way would interfere with the absorbency since it is 100% polyester. Microfleece wicks moisture away from baby and is used for the stay-dry effect. When the inner layer of the diaper is one of the soaker fabrics, the soaker will not be topped with an extra layer of it because it would make it too thick.
All of the organic fabrics that I use are 100% certified organic cotton or hemp. Hemp is naturally organic because it does not require pesticides in order to grow.

Please include the following information with your order:
Diaper: Contour Soaker or Tri-fold Soaker & Organic or Non-Organic (Tri-fold soakers make a fitted diaper bulky and are a good solution for heavy-wetters)
Size: Small, medium or large
Closures: Side snap, side aplix (velcro), front snap or front aplix (velcro)
Style: All tri-fold soakers are quick-dry. For contour soakers: quick-dry (snap-in) or regular-dry (sewn-in)
100% organic soaker fabric (These are for all diapers. Choose one for the hidden absorbent layers of your diaper.)
Outer fabric:
100% organic print (These are for 'all organic' diapers. These are light weight fabrics and do not add to absorbency when used as the outer fabric.)
100% organic solid (These are for 'all organic' diapers. These are heavier weight fabrics and add to absorbency when used as the outer fabric.)
Woven print (Light weight)
Knit print (Light weight)
Flannel print (Light weight)
Polyester print (Light weight)
Microfleece (Microfleece is light weight but thicker than the print fabrics. It is 100% polyester and cannot be organic. If used on the outside of diapers, you still need a cover, but it helps keep moisture in just a bit longer.)
Inner fabric:
100% organic solid (These are for 'organic inner' or 'all organic' diapers.)
Microfleece (Microfleece is light weight but thicker than the outer prints. It is 100% polyester and cannot be organic. It is used inside diapers for a little bit of the stay-dry effect.)

Notes:
Trim vs. bulky: Use a woven, knit and flannel print on the outside and microfleece on the inside for the trimmest diaper. The heavier weight fabrics like the soaker materials and velour add to the bulk but are also more absorbent.
Absorbent layers: For the trimmest diaper choose 100% organic cotton french terry as the absorbent layers. 100% organic cotton fleece and 55% organic hemp 45% organic cotton fleece are less trim.
Inner and Outer Layers: Velours, fleeces (except microfleece), french terry and sherpa add to the absorbency of the diaper when used as the outer layer and/or the inner layer. For the trimmest diaper choose a woven, knit or flannel print outer and microfleece inner. For the most absorbent diaper, but less trim, choose velour, fleece (except microfleece), french terry or sherpa for the outer and inner layers of the diaper.
Sizing: Knit fabrics stretch. Diapers made with knit print fabrics on the outside run larger and last longer as the baby grows.
